A sodium salt of polycarboxilic acid dispersing agent for powder to liquid. An additive to assist powder well dispersed in a water for a homogeneous mix. Clay slip is one example as clay tends to thicken with hydration. Instead of adding more water Reotan L will liquefy clay slip for faster wall thickness formation in plaster mold. Too much water in clay slip slow down casting and shorten plaster mold life in over wetting plaster mold and subsequent saturation of mold pores with soluble salts.
Also used in glaze formulation, emulsion paints and any waterbase media with powder pigments or fillers additives. Increases solid to water content for better flow, levelling and drying especially when paint fillers and extenders are added to paints.
Dosage : 0.1% – 0.3% calculated on total pigment-extenders weight.
Similiar function as Dispex.
