Lino Tool No.3 – Gouge U – Carver 5mm

Carbon steel cutter from Speedball USA fixed to a wood holder. Suitable for linoleum, printing rubber and wood carving of etching plate in printing use. Similiar use in detail carving of NSP, Monster, carving wax and polymer clay in master sculpture. Though carbon steel is noted for its sharpness it requires maintenance sharpening on a leather strop dressed with Multifilla metal stropping compound. As a wax base compound it help to prevent rusting too. Strop on the bevelled side only while burs raised inside can be removed and smoothened with a small wood dowel.
