Japanese origin hand forged Kogatana.
Single bevel laminated steel with hard carbon steel core. Noted for its sharpness and edge retention this hard core steel makes sharpening much easier and faster than a totally hard steel knife. However care in sharpening with mesh 1000 – mesh 6000 wet stone and not with dry mechanical sharpening. Sharp first on the bevel side and remove bur on the opposite flat side without tilting or changing the angle. Keep dry after use and for prolong storage brush on camellia oil to prevent rust.
Perfect for veneer marquetry, leather cutting and close cutting with wood rule guided along its flat side or as a marking knife.
