Pre cut metal stilt pins sharpened both ends to cast firing stilts for glaze firing. The pointed end leaves minimal stilt marks on the glaze. Slip cast with stoneware clay the support base and insert the pins before demolding. Fire the clay to maturity before use as firing stilts. Pins withstand 1200°C temperature without deforming unlike using pins cut from Kanthal wire. Cost saving in DIY firing stilts with these alloy metal pins.
Knife makers place knives blanks seperately partitioned with these stilts pins in annealing, hardening and tempering to ensure even heating.
Available in 1.4mm and 1.7mm diameters. The 1.4mm pins are for glaze firing of smaller lighter items.
