Single beveled stainless steel knife is for cleaning plaster mold parting line and mold separation. Place the knife on the mold seam line and tap lightly with a rubber or leather mallet. The knife bevel edge will wedge open the mold. Do note to scrap clean along the parting line of the 2 part mold pre applied with mold release soft soap for a clean separation of 2 or more parts mold. Mold will not separate if soft soap release agent is not applied in casting of 2 part mold.
Its sharp tapered beveled edge form neat pouring hole in plaster mold, create locking pins and trim both plaster and clay seams. Useful in greenware, leather hard clay and industrial oil clay sculpting.
The stainless steel blade is suited for working with damp clay or plaster. Soap and candle makers use in cutting and trimming. Slightly flexible yet sturdy with good edge sharpness. Maintenance sharpening and cleaning is with a leather strop dressed with metal stropping compound.
