Glaze firing support pin stilts are kiln shelves saver that prevent glaze run off in firing. Any unsupported glazes runoff will permanently bonded glazedwares to the kiln shelf. Even with firing stilts it is advisable to apply kiln wash occasionally as secondary protection on the kiln shelf.
