Draw plate is to reduce the diameter of non ferrous wires like copper, brass, silver and gold.
Clamp draw plate to a bench vise. Use a needle bottle filled with light paraffin oil to squirt into the bevelled hole and insert the corresponding size wire to draw through. Repeat the same with the next smaller size to reduce the diameter further. Use a canvas stretcher or draw tong to assist wire pulling. Certain wires will be hardened in the drawing process and might need to be tempered to restore its malleability. Largest hole approximately 5mm reduces in small increment of 50 sizes down to hair
